Stretch it out ! I always stretch before every surf session. Your muscles could get tight and could cause issues or tears if you don’t stretch. Do you stretch everyday?

Recently I have been trying to work on my arm strength as surfing can be difficult with weak arms and shoulders. And my arms are thin! This is an easy shoulder exercise you can do anywhere. I bought a few different weight sets to try to gain some muscle. I have to start with lighter weights because I’m weak lol

Sometimes the easiest way to carry your board is on your head 😝 the board can be big or heavy and it makes it easier this way!

Wakesurfing : sometimes you fall to the back of the wave. The best way to get back in the pit is to bend down and put all your weight forward or on your front foot. That will move the board forwards. If you’re going too far forward put the breaks on a little by shifting the weight to your back foot!

Can someone clean my board for me? Usually when your wax starts looking dirty you need to use a wax scraper and scrape the wax off and start over!

When walking with your kite you want to have the kite out over the water for safety. If a gust comes or you lose control of the kite the worst that will happen is you get pulled into the water. If you had your kite on the other side facing the building you could get pulled into the building or other obstacles. Just a pro tip to keep you safe!

SKINCARE POST: this is myself and my cousin Jess @hotmesstv . This photo is about 4 years old. When I see her next we will be taking updated ones. But skincare for an athlete in the sun everyday is super important if you want to look younger longer. I have learned sunscreen and hats are important, as you see I’m wearing a hat here because I want to keep the sun off my face. In addition to that I use different creams from her skincare line. She has taught me everything I know so that I can keep my skin looking good. I think we both look better now, what do you think?

Flipping the kite over when not in use. Grab it along the inflatable leading edge, walk towards the wing tip and flip her over. Voila 💦 once the kite is flipped over the wind can flow over it. If it’s super windy, put some sand on top of the canopy.

Did you know this was my first ever surfboard! I chose this shape and size at the time because I wasn’t very good at surfing. This is called a funshape which is between a short board and a longboard. Short boards are harder to ride because they are smaller. So this is an inbetween to help me get better at surfing smaller boards!

In order to keep your kite stable while you walk you want to what we call “park” the kite at 3 o’clock and keep it there while you walk. This is setting the kite at the edge of the “wind window” which allows wind to pass through it while you walk for minimal pull.

I went surfing today! The waves were small just how I like it 🤣 my arms got super tired though… time to start strength training my arms! Ways to do this is weights at the gym and paddle the surf board even when there are no waves. Wish me luck!
