Back when I competed at the USA Championships, where I narrowly missed winning! I was LEAN here, weighing almost 100 lbs. and very low & extreme body fat levels.
While these days are behind me, I can't forget the amount of work and dedication I put in to get here.
What do you think of this look? It's not for everyone I get that, but hopefully you find motivation in all my fitness stories! ๐ซ

From my last show - The NPC National Championships. ๐
Did you know, the night before a bodybuilding competition, competitors will often load up on carbohydrates? Depending on how lean you are or even your body type, the goal of this is to fill your muscles up with glycogen (Carbs) the best you can to give them a more muscular appearance. This is only achieved because competitors have done weeks of strict dieting going into the competition. Some competitors will actually use junk carbohydrates like candy, cakes, or even a hamburger and french fries. Some competitors prefer to keep the carbs a little "cleaner" such as sweet potatoes or rice. I always did really well with hamburger and fries! ๐
I assumed many of you didn't know this so hopefully I taught ya something new about bodybuilding competitions ๐

Exercise spotlight ๐ซ Around the world's!
This is a fantastic exercise for building your shoulders. I chose to grab plates rather than dumbbells for a little variety. This is also something you can easily do at home if you aren't able to get to the gym.
Focus on squeezing your shoulders at the top and slowing it down on the way down. You won't need a lot of weight with this exercise as it works your shoulders from a unique angle.

Glute training was always a priority for me when getting ready for competitions. I spent many hours on the stairmaster, sometimes with resistance bands around my knees focusing on squeezing my glutes and contracting. Bikini competitions are very often won or lost on glute development. If you haven't tried that, give it a try! It doesn't need to be a very heavy resistance band but it does make a very dramatic difference!

1 tablespoon olive oil

5 oz. tilapia
25 grams cream of rice
1 cup asparagus
๐ซ Meal 4.
4 oz. tilapia

5 oz. chicken
2 oz. avocado
1 small dinner sale

1 scoop protein powder
