Intensity in the gym is often overlooked by many people. Each rep needs to have intention behind it. Work the muscle, squeeze it and focus! And if you workout from home, even more so! Keep the distractions like your phone away from you as you workout.

The thrill of victory ❤️
While I no longer compete in bikini competitions, I will forever cherish this moment. This was during my last show in November '19 when I won the overall! It was an emotional moment for me (clearly!) as I had some struggles going into the show. But, I overcame things and get going! And it was all very worth it 🏆

Workin' hard or hardly workin' 😏
A lot of you have been asking me what my typical workout split is. So, here is an idea! Keep in mind, I do change it up if my goals change, and I'm not saying this is the perfect split for you. But this is an idea on what I do!
💫 Monday - Lower body
💫 Tuesday - Shoulders/arms
💫 Wednesday - Off
💫 Thursday - Back
💫 Friday - Lower body
Cardio 4-5x per week. Usually in the form of stair master, treadmill or cycling outside.
I have found this to be the perfect split for me. When I was competing, things changed up a lot, mainly with cardio and my diet. But I have always had good luck with 4/5 days in the gym. Even 3 days a week has proven to be a good maintenance amount for me if I adjusted down a day.

Your goals in the gym are important, but so is your mental and spiritual health! Be realistic with your progress, and never beat yourself up over if you think you aren't where you want to be. The most important thing is you are moving forward, and not backwards!

Traveling and your diet, what to do...
I have always been one for enjoying a vacation. Its your time to rest, and if you love to travel, like I do, enjoying new cuisines can be a lot of fun!
An easy trick I have always done when I travel is I eat lighter during the day. This way, I can enjoy my dinner meals with no guilt. Maybe you cut your carbs down from half your normal amount during the day, and allow yourself some freedom at night.
Either way, try not to stress too much about your diet and traveling. A week off in the big picture won't matter at all! ❤️

With so many options out there - whey, plant, what do you choose? Well, they all have pros and cons. But ultimately, focusing on your total protein content for the day is really the first priority. Then, depending on your goals and diet, you can decide what type is for you.
Personally, I do only plant based for a variety of reasons with my diet.

When I used to train clients in person, it was crazy to me how many people neglected their back muscles. While they aren't a "visual muscle" so to speak, they're very important for overall balance as well as the safety of your core. The mind/muscle connection makes training back a little tougher, but with the right focus, you can get a really good connection and build a strong back.
A good rule of thumb is to always remember to squeeze your shoulder blades together, or at least try to, on every exercise.

✨Let’s talk MOTIVATION - A question I get asked all the time is “How do you stay motivated to work out and eat right?”
You want the real answer? I don’t stay motivated. There are days I hate the gym and a cookie sounds better. But you know what I ALWAYS am?
💪🏽I’M DISCIPLINED- excuse my language, but motivation is for p*ssies. Motivation is a fairy tale. Stop telling yourself you need to be motivated to get something done. Imagine if you only went to work on days you “felt like it”. You’d get fired. Same principle applies here. Get your ass up and DO IT because you’re disciplined instead of waiting around for a Monday or for a New Year or whatever BS excuse you got today.
