Spent all day doing all I could to keep this little one alive (see right) - It was a stressful day of trying to get her to nurse, and after many mama rejections, and then failing to take the bottle, we started to consider if we should attempt a feeding tube… which is a Hail Mary effort that has a low survival rate. But!!! She finally latched on her mama at sunset and got her first meal and first round of colostrum (which is vital to immunity and survival, with a short window to receive it). Hoping Rosie will learn to be a good mother and keep baby January safe, healthy, and fed. Oh ps I live on a farm *in case you didn’t know*

One of my favorite photoshoots (ever) was done this last August in preparation for Camp Emma. I’ve worked with Mike Ackerman a few times but this shoot was by far our best work together, and we really found our rhythm. We ventured out into a really beautiful wild area along the Columbia River in Oregon after shooting some moody shots inside a mid century style cabin. As beautiful and elegant as we make these photos look, it was actually very uncomfortable to shoot in the grass! Later in the day after we were done, I noticed I had a bit of an allergic reaction and very irritated skin! Luckily it recovered within a day, and it was all worth it (I don’t mind pushing some physical limits as long as I get *the shot*) ✨ If you want to buy all the photos in this set (over 100 photos), tip here and I'll send them to you!

2022 was a wild ride... and nothing signifies that quite as well as the video of the Yeehaw Witch. In the middle of my month-long Camp Emma project, I was caught under the blanket of smoke from a heavy wildfire. For five days at this location, wildfire smoke obscured the otherwise gorgeous view and made it difficult to spend too much time outside breathing the air. I was so excited about this location, but with the smoke and energy of this place was just…off. On the final day in this location, inspiration struck me. The smoke lifted just enough that I could be outside for short periods of time. I decided to try using my new drone for the first time, with lots of trial and error. I even crashed it a few times lol, but in the end, I shot this video and then edited it the same day and managed to show it live on cam that same night. The whole thing from start to finish took 5 hours! (Which makes me think, hm if I had more time and a team helping me, I’d be creating pop star level content lol). After I filmed and edited, I went live on MFC for my 5 hour stream, and unleashed the *Yeehaw Witch* for the first time ;) So let's tally the score here once again. Brutal conditions? Check. Obstacles everywhere? Check. Fight through it anyway and make something beautiful? Check. Yep, 2022 in a nutshell.

***I'm revisiting some of my favorite videos of 2022!*** I rented a nice little cabin in the mountains last spring as my first real getaway of the year. The winter had been really rough, I did a cross country move, moved in with family while my house was being built, and then everyone on the farm got sick (including me!)… and I was in an intense caregiving role for months. I needed something to help revive my energy and get back to creating and sharing in ways that fed my soul. This trip did exactly that. 🥰 It reignited my energy to carry me through the rest of spring and into summer when I moved into my new home. My senses go wild and my artistic side lights up when I’m in the right environment; I was able to recharge my energy, relax into a new space, and tap into some divine creativity. When that happens, I also get *very* turned on. The videos from that trip channel that energy and the result really makes me happy. I've been pulling a card from one of my favorite decks and posting a meditation on it here. Today's card is ***Kairos***. From the Guidebook: *We have all had the experience of timelessness, of life beyond the ticking of the clock. It may be felt as time standing still, slow motion, or losing track of time on a walk or in a lovely conversation. This is known as mythic time, and it is the territory of Kairos.* *This card suggests there is a secondary time continuum that goes beyond any earthly clocks and schedules. Within this nonlinear realm we access divine timing. A single moment ripens with auspiciousness and our actions change the trajectory of our whole life. Time becomes a living thing that watches over us and tells us precisely when to speak or act. When this card appears, it is all about patience and precision. No clock can guide you... wait for the rush of inner knowing and not a moment longer.* It feels quite aligned to explore this card given my comments the other night about "Omen Days," those days between Christmas and New Years. These few days can feel like they are in a vacuum. Time passes more slowly. We are afforded the chance to slowly and succulently taste the sweetness of experience, free of the hurried movements of the world. What I love about this card though is how it asks us to trust our inner guidance more than a schedule or a clock. If we are really listening - to our bodies, to our internal guides, to our highest selves - we will know when the time is right. Don't bring your logic. Let it fade away. The precision of the right moment only comes when we let go and simply trust. Just as your body knows how to heal itself, your innate and divine senses will know, and will let you know, when it is time to act... and when it is time to hibernate for a little bit. Be patient, let yourself feel it. Every fruit hits a point of perfect ripeness.
