Today is a short, easy run with some strides. Testing myself in a half marathon tomorrow morning. It will be a steady, sustained effort, hard, but relaxed and comfortable, as I'm not in racing shape.

Got up early for 6.44k, busy day at work, and off for another 13k. Today is a recovery day so both runs are supposed to be easy, except when your husky is pulling you, because she is on the scent of something.

You never regret a workout, but you do regret missing one. I'm tired, stiff and sore from yesterday, but I'm off to the trails for 16k. Once I get moving it'll just start to flow. Keep showing up!

Early morning 6.44km felt tough after last night's speedwork, but it helps to loosen the stiff muscles and bumps up the weekly mileage, plus its cool out for my husky.

15 min warmup
2 sets of
4x200 strides, 200m jog
2x400 at 5k pace, 400 jog
1x800 at 10k pace, 2-3 min jog and repeat
15 min cooldown

Heading out for my second run of the day. This week I'm back to two-a-days three times a week. I really need to make sure I get enough sleep so proper recovery can happen. Its crazy hot out right now; its going to be an easy 60 minutes.

Early morning 45 min run with Leah, the husky. Going to be a hot day, had to get her out early. Tonight will be a 60 min run. Finished last week with 113km; this week's goal 120+ km. Post shower picture before I get ready for work.

A very slow 12km today; my legs were tired from rebuilding the mileage after an injury. To quote one of my fav runners, Desi Linden, some days it just flows and I feel like I was born to do this, & some days its like trudging through hell; just keep showing up.

A 16km (10 mile) run at 6:50/mile pace on a fairly hilly loop. Another cool and windy day. How is it possible to have the wind in 3 directions?! Although, if its windy on race day, I'll be prepared.

Another run in the books. I still feel tired from Saturday's effort, but I got 12km in. It's like a bank deposit, keep putting in and when its time to withdraw, there's so much in reserve. Now all showered, did my stretches, and some foam rolling. Tomorrow is a 2 run day - so up early!

Out of my work clothes, and getting ready for a 10km (6 mile) run. This is my second run; I did 6km (4 mile) this morning. I'll be soaked as its raining; I love running in the rain. This morning was my first run in awhile without pain, yay! I can't wait to race this summer!

Today was a very slow 12km; my legs were so tired from yesterday's effort, every step was painful. Now lots of stretching and foam rolling; plus an elliptical session. Yesterday's effort gave me the confidence to go for sub 2:50. Two more weeks of work and then more time to train for a fall marathon over the summer. During marathon training it's so important to get: enough sleep, proper hydration and nutrition, taking time to stretch, get massages and cross train.

Tested myself in a 16 km (10 mile) time trial this morning in 4:04/km (6:35/mile). It went well, and no tendon issue, though my left quad was bothering me. It impeded my stride and affected my cadence, so I didn't push it. It felt relaxed; happy with the effort! Now I need to build my mileage up again. I'll try and follow the 10% rule of weekly mileage increase, but rules are sometimes hard to follow.

My mileage has been low this week returning from a minor injury. Tomorrow I test myself with a16km time trial. Then I plan to build towards a fall marathon; need to get my mileage to 120km/week. Easy 5 mile run with 4 x strides tonight. Beauty day!

My run went well. It was so hot out, but I averaged 4:11/km for 10km by myself, and it felt easy. I haven't lost too much fitness from my injury, and it's a good spot to start to build again. Sub 2:50!

A pic before my hairs goes up in a ponytail and I head out for 10k (6 miles). The plan is to run 4:00-4:10/km (6:30-6:40/mile), and it should feel relatively comfortable, though its hot out! 30 Celcius which is hot for here. I'll let you know it goes.
