2021-06-01 01:37:41 +0000 UTC View PostI'm back! An easy 6.4km (4 mile) run this morning, and a 12k (8 mile) run this evening in 59 minutes, which felt relaxed and easy even though it was hot out! And zero tendon pain! The 2:50 marathon buildup starts now!
2021-06-01 01:32:53 +0000 UTC View PostAll cleaned up, but planning to get sweaty again for my second workout soon. I feel like I have to do extra cross training when I'm injured, as the workouts aren't nearly as taxing as running workouts.
2021-05-30 23:56:20 +0000 UTC View PostAn hour on the elliptical and an hour walking uphill. Tendon feels good; hoping to try a run tomorrow. I have a 16km (10mile) leg of a relay race on Saturday. I'm hoping I will be able to do it and get a baseline of fitness before I build for a fall marathon.
2021-05-30 19:57:04 +0000 UTC View PostBathing suit weather today! I think runners have the best legs; we work hard for them.
2021-05-30 16:10:31 +0000 UTC View PostA summer outfit on this beautiful day.
2021-05-30 04:02:34 +0000 UTC View PostSuch a beautiful day here! And I'm stuck on the elliptical. Tendon is 90% better, but I'm resisting the urge to run outside until it's 100%. I want to be able to run, not just jog. Twenty minutes of jump training too; I'm going to be sore tomorrow. An hour uphill walk planned for later.
2021-05-29 18:27:23 +0000 UTC View PostI've been told I look good in blue. What do you think?
2021-05-29 04:39:34 +0000 UTC View PostAll smiles on a Friday! Even though I'm struggling with a sore tendon; I rushed back to training too soon. Tonight will be cross training - elliptical, light strength, and core. I need to remind myself of my fall racing goals to remain patient and let this heal.

2021-05-27 22:08:38 +0000 UTC View PostBack at it! Tendon feels good. Managed a 6 mile run with 4x4 minute uptempo paces. I'm all in for this next training cycle!
2021-05-26 04:13:06 +0000 UTC View PostToday I did 20 minutes of pain free running, yay! Plus I did an hour on the elliptical, and some jump training. I like to add in a little plyometrics / jump training for strength, and to simulate the feeling your legs get at the end of a race - teaching the legs to push through when they feel heavy and tired. Tomorrow I will try a longer run with a few minutes uptempo.
2021-05-25 03:54:09 +0000 UTC View PostI'm having fun sharing my pics with you here. Really getting energized from my fans!
2021-05-24 16:48:48 +0000 UTC View PostElliptical again, plus some core and light strength work. And ten minutes of running just to test the leg; all good so far! I will gradually add more minutes each day as long as I'm painfree.
2021-05-24 04:12:17 +0000 UTC View PostLive to run another day. An hour on the elliptical today for me. I ran a lap of the track yesterday. I'm happy to say there was no tendon pain, though its still tender to touch. It's always best to take a few days off at the first sign of a niggle, rather than push through and risk several weeks or more off of training.
2021-05-23 20:17:22 +0000 UTC View PostWearing this makes me long to spend summer days on the beach.

2021-05-23 01:26:01 +0000 UTC View PostGood news - physio thinks its just tendon inflammation. Yay! Though I do need to rest it for few days; I'll hit the elliptical for 75 minutes instead.
2021-05-23 01:22:27 +0000 UTC View PostI want to do more photos like this. What do you think? Enough tips and I'll buy a new bikini.
2021-05-21 15:37:52 +0000 UTC View PostTough being injured when you have ambitious racing goals! Physio today - hoping to get some answers, thinking its a tendon strain. Keep you posted. Plan to hit cross training hard starting today!
2021-05-21 15:30:40 +0000 UTC View PostI think I'm on the injury list as I seemed to have strained a hamstring on my tempo run yesterday. So a few days off running, though I'll cross train. My go to is yoga, core and strength videos and I get a much stronger core when injured; I'll look at this as as blessing in disguise. This weekend new pics with the extra time I will have!
2021-05-20 14:37:06 +0000 UTC View PostTuesday was hill repeats for speed work day. Hill repeats develop strength, power, work on running form and make running on flat surfaces feel so much easier. I start feeling strong from hill repeats without stepping foot in a gym.
2021-05-19 14:39:12 +0000 UTC View PostWhite bodysuit to show my tan. Two runs today, an easy 6.4km this morning with my dog, an easy 13km this afternoon - it was hot! For me, getting in 20km (12 miles) most days, gives me the volume to feel ready for long races or shorter track races. It builds aerobic capacity - in essence a better engine.
2021-05-18 02:27:14 +0000 UTC View PostSunday recovery day. Two easy runs today; a morning 12 km and an evening 10 km - 122 km for the week! Ready to do it all again this upcoming week. Sub 3 hours here I come!

2021-05-16 23:00:13 +0000 UTC View PostSaturday morning is my longest, hardest run of the week. Today was 24km (15 miles), with 270m (885 ft) elevation gain at a sustained, steady effort chasing fast people. Now I relax in the sun with an iced coffee. Getting tan lines now!
2021-05-15 18:47:34 +0000 UTC View PostFriday Workout: 3x400 My aim lately has been to increase my mileage, and as I adapt to the higherΒ volume, I have been doing one speed session a week. I'm adding in a second shorter speed session on Fridays. I'm easing in though with just 3x400, so my legs will be fresh for Saturday's long, hilly run. Speedwork teaches your body to run faster, innervate's your fast twitch muscle fibers, and improves your efficiency. It also makes race pace for the longer distances feel so much easier!
2021-05-15 05:23:52 +0000 UTC View PostToday was a 12 km (8 mile) recovery run, as my legs are tired. Though I'll be back on this track tomorrow for a short speed session, and look how happy I am about it. π
2021-05-14 03:37:48 +0000 UTC View PostEasy morning 4 mile shakeout run to recover from Tuesday and Wednesday's efforts. There is a delicate balance in training to push your limits to reach your potential, yet making sure not to overtrain and get injured. I have this audacious goal to be the fastest in the world for my age group. I need to live this balance.
