Later that night after I got back, and after everyone else had went to bed, I went outside to smoke on the patio. I watched the palm trees swaying in the the ocean breeze as the waves gently crashed upon the beach, when the realization hit that the last time I was on a boat was during the summer with Ali and her husband Karl. They say grief comes in waves and it couldn’t have been more literal in that moment. I went for a walk on the beach from 5 AM to 8 AM, thinking about Ali as I watched the sunrise. It’s now been 3 months since she passed away and like many who knew her, I’ve thought about her every day since. I just wanted to share with you these pics I took of her on that day. It was an absolutely picturesque summer morning, and even if the day itself had turned out gray, her ebullient personality and her boundless beauty would have made it idyllic anyway. Please understand this is by no means a “pity me” post, I was just missing my friend and wanted to talk about her for a moment, and for you to see her smile. Even though she’s gone, her warmth and light still radiate from her photos💕
