Bells Larsen released his newest album, Blurring Time, just a few days ago and only a few hours before i had the pleasuring of discovering his art.
he's a Canadian musician and this album is about his journey as a trans man. his title song is fantastic and really spoke to me as a queer and questioning person. as ive reached a point of my journey where im comfortable, it's beautiful to find music like this so i can reflect upon it all. another beautiful track i recommend if you don't have the energy or time to listen to the entire album is 'Questions.'
he harmonizes with his past self, using his voice from years ago. what a clever and beautiful way to highlight his transition, im in tears ♡ i hope you enjoy!

the sun's out and there's enough of a breeze so i can wear my sweatshirt comfortably. as i was taking food scraps to my compost, i was listening to the birds and feeling the slightly damp ground under my shoes. the bright red of a male cardinal caught my eye and i watched him, listened to his call, and, for a brief moment, a black capped chickadee landed in the same tree. once that smaller bird left, i noticed the male looking up above him at a female cardinal. it was so beautiful and i found those few moments to further appreciate the space im in. the sky is so blue, it's actually fansly blue atm if that helps you visualize it better haha.
sometimes i hear people say things aren't as colorful as when they were children but i personally never felt that way. im fortunate to have the bright yellow forsythia just feet from my window, the dark green of ground ivy and it's purple purple flowers reaching up taller every day. the violets, purple and white varieties, scattered through the yard. and this is just the beginning the spring season. im lucky to have and give myself the time to stop and look at what's around me and really soak it all in. i feel everything so intensely, another aspect of autism i can really appreciate in moments like this, and im brought to tears at the world around me, in my small world ive created for myself.
